The R/V Kaharoa II journeyed from the shipyards in Spain where the vessel was built, to New Zealand and along the way conducted research and deployed eleven GO-BGC floats.

The eleven floats deployed from the Kaharoa II delivery expedition were adopted by schools in California, Kansas, New Jersey, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, and Washington. Check out all adopted floats on the Adopt-a-Float data table, photos of floats can be found on our Flickr page.
Kaharoa II is a 36.1m (118.44 ft) research vessel built for the National
Institute of Water and Atmospheric (NIWA) in New Zealand.
