The Southern Ocean and Antarctic margins play a central role in regulating sea level rise and our global climate. These regions are also some of the most challenging to conduct sustained observational programs due to the immense logistical difficulties in accessing them. It is critical that we build on the successes of ongoing observational efforts […]
Bringing together observational oceanographers and modelers across physical, biogeochemical, and ecological communities to assess our understanding of pathways connecting the surface to the seafloor and to develop recommendations for improved detection and attribution of change in the global deep ocean system.
We will focus on high-latitude ocean biogeochemistry by exploring the research of two groups that participated in the 2023 GO-BGC/BGC Argo Float Data Workshop at the University of Massachusetts Boston.
The 8th WMO Workshop on the Impact of Various Observing Systems on Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) and Earth System Prediction (ESP) will be organized by WMO and will be hosted by the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) in Sweden, at the SMHI main office in Norrköping, on 27-30 May 2024.
The US OCB summer workshop provides a forum for community discussion of new research directions and opportunities, in addition to plenary sessions on timely state-of-the-art science.
The 25th Annual Roger Revelle Commemorative Lecture hosted by the National Academies and Scripps Institution of Oceanography will explore the topic of equitable science and solutions in the context of our warming world.
The MATE ROV Competition is an underwater robotics (aka remotely operated vehicle or ROV) challenge that engages a global community of learners each year. The 2024 MATE ROV World Championship event will be one of the largest and most internationally diverse yet: 82 teams from 17 different countries will be converging in Kingsport, Tennessee to put their underwater robotics skills to the test.
The Global Ocean Biogeochemistry Array (GO-BGC), a project funded by the US National Science Foundation to build and deploy a global network of chemical and biological sensors that will monitor ocean health, is hosting the 2024 EARTH workshop to be held in Seattle, Washington Jun 24-29, 2024.
SOCCOM's tenth annual meeting will bring Southern Ocean researchers, invited speakers and early career scientists together in June 2024.
NCAT and its maritime partners are offering a Marine Technology Summer Workshop experience for undergraduate and high school students through a 5-day workshop focused on Global Ocean Biogeochemical (GO-BGC) float technology.
SCAR and the Chilean Antarctic Institute are pleased to invite you to the 11th SCAR Open Science Conference, scheduled to take place in Pucón, Chile, from 19-23 August 2024.
