Lindblad Two—Adopted in Japan
October 18, 2024
Another float successfully deployed! With only four more to go in the next eight days, it’s going to be a busy time for the GO-BGC program onboard (aka: me). The constant time zone changes have left my mind and body in a bit of disarray. Last night was particularly challenging—I wrapped up work at 5 am but couldn’t fall asleep. My brain seemed convinced it was dinnertime…or maybe it was the full moon—the Hunter’s supermoon—that had some effect on me?
Lindblad Two (Float-ID #22218) had been adopted and decorated by passengers aboard the National Geographic Resolution during their voyage around Japan back in September. Our team member, Andrew Meyer, was onboard during that voyage to prepare the floats, ensuring everything was in perfect working order. He also spent time engaging with the passengers and exploring the shore with them, and it sounds like he had an amazing experience! Check out the blog post with his experience onboard the ship and the adoption of the float.
Don’t forget to look for real-time data from this and other BGC floats on the GO-BGC website. Use one of the interactive maps to look for Lindblad Two—just search for the Float-ID 22218. You can also find information on key parameters measured by each adopted float on the AdoptAFloatViz page.
Check the GO-BGC array in real time and stay tuned to hear about the next float deployments!
